Game Two:White Sox and the Dodgers

White Sox 29 – 30 (12 – 16 on the road)

Dodgers 31 – 28 (13 – 17 at home)

It is game two of the three game series as the White Sox try to even the series at one game a piece. Hector Noesi(ERA – 5.29) makes his first appearance, since his confidence building outing on May 29th. His counterpart on the mound today is Dan Haren with an ERA of  3.50.

The Sox lined up: Adam Eaton, Gordon Beckham, Jose Abreu, Adam Dunn, Alexei Ramirez, Conor Gillaspie, Dayan Viciedo, Tyler Flowers, Hector Noesi. Paul Konerko came in to pitch hit for Hector as Scott Downs took over in the seventh inning.

Abreu in his first at bat with Beckham on second hit his second home run in as many games, giving the Sox the lead 2 – 0 at the close of the top of the first.

The bottom of the second, the Dodgers got on the board with, Matt Kemp starting things with a single to right, Chone Figgins walked moving Kemp to second. Dan Haren filled the bases when he walked. Dee Gordon’s sacrifice fly got Kemp home to cut the Sox lead to   2 – 1 at the close of the inning.

The Sox added another one to their lead when, Eaton walked, Beckham moved him to third on a single to center, Abreu hit into a fielder’s choice to third getting Eaton home for a 3 to 1 lead. Flowers added another on in the top of the fourth with a home run to right giving the Sox a 4 – 1 lead.

Top of the seventh inning saw Paul Maholm take over duties on the mound for the Dodgers, Scott Downs took over for Noesi at the bottom of the inning for the Sox, who then passed off to Jake Petricka, Zach Putnam closed the inning on the mound.

The final changes for both sides would be on the mound as,Chris Perez would close the office for the Dodgers and the Sox would make one final change as Ronald Belisario would lock up for the Sox,

The Sox would even the series at one game all with a 4  to 1 win to day. They are now only 4 games behind the Tigers who lost. The Sox will be sending John Danks (ERA 4.66, with a 3 – 5 record) against Josh Beckett (ERA 2.52 and a 3 – 2 record) in the final game of the series.
