Holiday News

1340671450Sorry its been awhile since I have checked in with you. Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox on their World Series win. It was a great series and Even though Jake Peavy did pitch and had a rough outing I was still really happy to get to watch him play.

This is a bit of news to catch you up on:

Gordon Beckham and Matt Lindstrom bot got married in the last few weeks and we send our best wishes to them.

Dylan Axelrod‘s contract was not renewed by the White Sox and we wish him the best in the future.

I have not seen an update on how Gavin Floyd is going but I did see that someone is keeping an eye on him, I want to say its Baltimore but don’t quote me on that one.

Tyler Flowers was given a 1 year contract, I just don’t know about that because he is coming off-season ending surgery. Jeff Keppinger also had surgery at the end of last season but I have not seen an update on him.

Here is the link to the active rooster at the time I wrote this:

I am not sure when the final cut has to be made. I figure that a few of the guys will be sent down to Charlotte at some point.

A.J Pierzynski has left Texas heading to the Boston Red Sox after taking a one year deal, He will be joining Jake and Matt Thornton, Jarred Saltalamacchia and the Miami Marlins have reached a three-year deal.

Well, the news we have been waiting for has finally come and its good, Paul Konerko has said YES to coming back for the 2014 season. It will be great to see him play and go out on his terms.

Winter meetings will be taking place soon and if I hear any news I will stop in to pass it along.

I just wanted to take a chance to thank you all for your support over the year. It was a year of more ups than downs but I have mange to find my way with your support.

Have a great holiday season and will see you all soon

John had a good solid outing throwing 7 inning with 6 strike outs. John gave up 1 walk and threw 6 strike outs. All the Detroit runs were earning by single shot home runs.

On the mound for tomorrow’s game is Andre Rienzo for just his second appearance in the Chicago Pinstripe, this is the closing game of the road trip before the New York Yankees arrive at The Cell for a 3 game series.

White Sox – 2 and the Detroit Tigers – 3 in 12 Innings

***Ninth Inning

*2 – 2

Sox – Paulie Konerko homered to left center

***Twelfth Inning

*3 – 2 (Tigers Win)

Hunter singled to left,Tuiasosopo scored

It was a good game, we took it to extra inning and Paul’s home run has been a long time coming. Andre had a super outing with 6 inning pitched, 3 strike outs and his ERA for today at 1.38. Donnie Veal with an ERA at 6.75 and Dylan Axelrod at a 6.21 ERA, I think is an issue that Coach Cooper should be addressing. We need to make the bullpen more effective and with another meeting with Detroit we need to get things in line.

Time to pack the bags and head for home. The New York Yankees arrive for a three game series starting on Monday, and with the drug bans starting to be announced it will be interesting. With A Rod on the list, people are wondering if he will be allowed to play.

Thursday is a day off, which I think it much-needed. Have break, just get away from the office for a few hours.

The Minnesota Twinkies arrive at The Cell for a four game series with the Friday starting at 1:10 Chicago time because of the first game is a make up game which was rained out on April 19,

Come Kids, Let’s go home

Chris Sale is in the office for the final game.

See you on the field

***Sixth Inning

*5 – 3 (Sox Lead)

***Eighth Inning

*6 – 3 (Sox Lead)

De Aza hits a solo HOME RUN to right

Chris Sale picks up the win, with Addison Reed getting the save. The game was not without other excitement as Alexei Ramirez was hit by a pitch which cleared both benches. Chris Sale had a pitch that went high and inside on a Detroit batter. Not having seen the issues take place, Chris would NEVER thrown a pitch to intentionally hit a batter. I just do not understand when things like this happen what in the world would that accomplish.

We had a good solid series. No one tried anything fancy that caused errors, it was good basic one out at a time ball. You can see patience in the batters box, making the pitcher work harder to get the out.

Pack your travel bag kids, its off to the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for a three game series with the Phillies at Citizen Bank Park before heading home for the All Star break

See you on the field
