Who Stole my Milk

It is game 2 in the series with the Twins and Miguel Gonzalez has the keys to the office. Adam Eaton is out and Avi Garcia is filling in right today. I saw a tweet that Robin said, “Adam is beaten up and needs a rest” Still missing Todd Frazier and Brett Lawrie in the infield and fingers crossed they will be back soon

Tyler Saladino opens the Sox batting with a single, Melky with a single and just 1 out. Avi, “What were you thinking on those last 2 pitches?”

Holy crap kids, thanks to 2 errors a stolen base and an overthrow and its a 1 to 0 Twins lead. This is not only on J.B but Dioner also (stolen base, E – 2)

With 2 outs in the top of the 4th and Avi belts a double. Justin Morneau with a double of his own for a 1 all ball game

Miguel is looking pretty good, his pitch count is a little high for the bottom of 4th but he is managing well.

Tim Anderson with a single and 2 out in the top of the 5th. Tyler with a single, Melky getting the boys home for a 3 to 1 Sox lead.

Dioner really needs a rest, too many mistakes.

YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD YES, THANKS Justin for home run 102, it is a 4 to 1 Sox lead. Carlos Sanchez safe and Dioner out on the force, (6th inning)

Timmy with a stolen base to open the 7th, Dioner looks annoyed and frustrated. Miguel got himself in this jam and needs to get himself out of it. the Sox conceded the run for the out and its a 4 to 2 ball game.

The combo of Jennings – Albers fighting for the office keys. Miguel over 100 pitches. 2 runs.

Jose Abreu finally reaches base with a little help from 3rd base, Dioner finally with a single.

Matt Albers got the keys flip from Jennings, both the walks have come back to bite us and its a 5 to 4 ball game, thanks to a massive home run. 7th home run given up by Matt. Saw Matt shaking his head as he was walking off. (Hawk made the comment before the commercial that the schedule has really hurt the boys in the pen, we had a great run, the boys getting rest and working well.)

A 1 out double for Timmy (3 hit game tonight), Tyler WHY did you swing at that, you could have been on 1st base? Melky with a single gets Timmy home for a 5 all ball game

Michael Ynoa has the office keys, he has 2 outs and the pond full. He got the Twins batter to pop out to Tyler.

Top of 10th and Avi takes a strike, then smacks a double to the gap in right center. Dioner with a double of his own, scoring Avi for a 6 to 5 Sox lead.

David Robertson in for the save. Lights out in the office (1 out) door shut, pop out to Timmy(2 outs) ground out to 2nd, Sanchez to Robertson to get the batter at first and this door is locked

This game is ova

Sox in Extra innings 6 to 5

David Robertson with save #25

Milk and Twinkies

It’s a weekend series in Minnesota and Justin Morneau’s 1st visit in a Sox uniform.

Jose Quintana in the office today, Todd Frazier scratched from today with flu-like symptoms. Brett Lawrie is on the trip with the boys but missing his energy on the field

2nd pitch of the game and Adam Eaton unloads for a home run. 1 to 0 Sox

Jose first pitch was a strike. Tyler with an E – 5,

Top of 2nd and the crowd is giving him a nice reception. Missed him at D.H with being in a National League Park. Justin with a lead off single.

Top of 5th and J.B shuck you silly bugger for trying that.

Top of 6th and Adam hit by a pitch, Tim Anderson caught stealing and in a run down. Twins tie the score at 1 all.

It was quiet and a seesaw battle until the bottom of the 12th when Dan Jennings starts the inning by hitting the first batter. Almost as bad as a walk. A sac bunt moved the runner, After walking a batter Dan Jennings leaves the office keys with Robin for Tommy Kahnle to pick up. Tommy walked the batter to fill the pond.

OUCH, Tommy walked home the winning run.

Twins 2 and Sox 1

Miguel Gonzalez with the office keys tomorrow

Come Sale Away

mound meeting 1 - CopyIt is the final game in the series with the Cubs and Chris Sale makes his return to the office. I will address some thoughts about Chris in another post.

After the game the boys are off for a 3 game series in Minnesota before a much-needed day off and then will face the Tigers in Detroit

The boys are wearing the dirty grey aways today

Tim Anderson opens for the Sox with a single, Melky with a double getting Timmy home for a 1 to 0 Sox lead

Chris 1st pitch was a strike, lead off walk came back to bite Chris and it’s 1 all in the bottom of the 1st.

Just a half step faster and J.B would’ve been safe.

Once again the walk bites Chris and it’s 2 to 1 Cubs (also batter hit by Chris)

You can see that the suspension has hurt Chris in one way, took till the 4th inning to get his first strikeout. 1,2 3 bottom of 4th.

Chris Sale gets a rare single at the top of the 6th inning. Melky with a 2 out single gets Chris to second and Jose Abreu to the plate, who leaves the boys stranded.

Dioner Navarro walked int he top of the 7th with 2 outs and Carlos Sanchez at the plate.

Chris headed to the showers and flipped Nate Jones the keys on his way. Tyler Saladino now in at 2nd replacing Carlos Sanchez. Tyler with a double is the tying run.

You can see Adam Eaton’s frustration (E – 9) that is a rare occurrence. It is a 3 to 1 lead, Timmy had to make a choice to get the secure out and that was at first. Nate has given the office keys to Tommy Kahnle for the right to right matchup. Robin in the office to give instructions, giving Dan Jennings a chance to get ready to get the keys.

**FINAL Score, White Sox – 1 and Cub – 3

Series Split 2 games all

Tim Anderson on thanks to a bullet of a base hit to shortstop, in the home half of the 3rd. Adam Eaton safe but Anderson out on the force. Eaton safe with stolen base #8 out of 11 tries. Adam safe on a Jose Abreu double

Top of the 4th and the Twins on the board with a solo shot for a 2 to 1 Sox lead, 2 balls and 2 solo shots for a 2 all ball game. Home half of the inning and Brett  has a leadoff double. A single to right brings Brett home for a 3 to 2 Sox lead. Avi Garcia safe at second on the steal. Davidson with his first RBI single to center, Avi home for a 4 to 2 Sox lead. J.B Shuck with a double getting Matt to 3rd. Anderson with his 1st walk loads the pond, Eaton hit by a pitch walks Matt home for a 5 to 2 Sox lead.

Top of 6th with the Twins getting a run taking the Sox lead to 5 to 3, Twins get another run to cut the lead to 5 to 4 and Rodon passes the office keys to Matt Albers. Bottom of the inning and Jason Coats in for Matt Davidson.(would later find out Matt has fractured his foot) J.B with a single, but picked off at 2nd.

Top of 7 has Zack Duke in the office to protect the 1 run lead. Duke is passing off to Nate Jones, game tied at 5.

Bottom of 8th sees Avi with a 2 out walk, Coats with a walk, J.B with a single gets Avi home for a 6 to 5 lead, with an overthrow J.B stops at 2nd.

**Final Score White Sox – 6 and Minnesota Twins – 5

It’s a weekend series in Houston, against the Astros.
