The Cell – Game 2 with the Yankees

carlosAnother great evening for baseball with the Yankees and the Sox have given the office keys to Carlos Rodon to open.

**Injury news – Austin Jackson is still on crutches and there won’t be any other news until after the All-Star break. Justin Morneau is in Charlotte, going 0 to 2 last night. The focus is on his batting, playing 1st will come at a later time.

**Chris Sale named to the pitching staff for the All-Star game.

For those who can’t see the game tonight the boys are wearing the full white pinstripes with black t-shirts

Nice heads up by Brett Lawrie to get the Yankees runner at home.

Adam Eaton with a single to open the Sox home half.

Yankees open the scoring at the top of the 2nd 1 to 0. An E – 6 on Tim Anderson and its 2 to 0 Yankees.

Brett with a single to right to open the bottom of 2nd, solid double for Alex Avila

Top of the 3rd, with a 2 run Yankees home run it’s 4 to 0. A Yankee double takes the score to 5 to 0. Carlos has nothing tonight.

Top of 5 and its Yankees – 6 and Sox – 0.

Chris Beck has the office keys, Carlos is in the showers for tonight. Dioner Navarro has replaced Alex Avila (right hamstring) behind the plate. Adam with a  stunner to home guns down the run and keeps the score at 6 to 0 in favor of New York.

Michael Ynoa and Dan Jennings also got the office keys but struggled to shut down the run fest.

The Sox finished the game with only 6 hits and 2 errors on the night. Alex Avila on the 15 day disabled list for a right hamstring strain and a corresponding move will be made tomorrow.

**Final Score – New York – 9 and White Sox – 0

Miguel Gonzalez in the office to close the series before a day off on Thursday.

The Atlanta Braves are the final team to visit The Cell to close the first half of the season before the All Star break
