13 Roster Changes

IMG_657629113138827The White Sox have made their first changes to the roster for the 2015 season.

Adrian Nieto and Matt Davidson, are on the way to Charlotte. According to Rick Hahn shared that Nieto needs more time in development. He is going well but needs more time. Davidson really struggled in 2014, has still not met the expectations from the deal that brought him to Chicago and sent Addison Reed to Arizona. He put a lot of pressure on himself, Hahn said and now that those issues have been resolved, he should be on track for a great season.

Shortstop Tyler Saladino, Kevan Smith and Trayce Thompson have also been sent to Charlotte.

Shortstop Tim Anderson, Dan Black, Andy La Roche, Jared Mitchell, Tyler Danish and J.D. Martin have all been sent to Minor League camp.

Raul Fernandez and Michael Ynoa have been sent to Birmingham.

With those changes, the roster is now at 51

“It’s never a good day” Robin Venture shared when you have to deliver this kind of news. You’re the one giving news to guys who came with hope of making it to Chicago, things do happen and you need the guys in Charlotte to be ready to fill in at a moments notice.

#RIP Minnie Minsos

IMG_54102817776935His full name was Saturnino Orestes Armas Minoso Arrieta but everyone calling him “Minnie”

To everyone he was known as Mr. White Sox.

He was always visiting the Locker Room, chatting with players and in Minnie’s way letting them know things that they need to work on.

I got to watch the opening of Sox Fest this year and Minnie was there, and what a cheer went up when he entered the room. His smile lit up the whole place.

Twitter has been full of memories and wonderful pictures. Ron Kittle posted a great picture from The Cell you should check out.

The news that has come form the team is that the boys are taking the news hard, especially Jose Abreu who has cancelled all request for interviews at this time. There are some great video’s at MLB.com

Minnie was 90 and survived by his wife and family who are asking for privacy at this time.
