It’s the final game of this nine game road trip before heading home to welcome the New York Yankees for a four game series at The Cell
On the mound for the Sox today is Jose Quintana and he will be facing off against Jeremy Guthrie
Matt Lindstrom is on the 15 day disabled list and is having surgery to repair his ankle that he rolled during game one in this series.
The line up for today is Adam Eaton, Gordon Beckham, Conor Gillaspie, Dayan Viciedo, Adam Dunn, Alexei Ramirez, Paul Konerko, Alejandro De Aza, Tyler Flowers. The boys once again wearing their black jerseys with grey pants.
Top of the second inning and the Sox got on the board with a single from Konerko, scoring Ramirez, who reached on a single and a stolen base at second. Inning closed with the score 1 – 0 in favor of the Sox.
The bottom of the third the Royals tied up the game when, Ciriaco reached on an infield single, and went on to score on an Aoki single to left. Score at the close of the inning is Sox – 1 and Royals – 1
Things went quiet expect for pitching changes on both sides, Top of the eighth inning saw Wade Davis on the mound for K.C and Jake Petricka took over for Jose Quintana, it is a 2 – 1 lead for the Royals when Aoki scored on a Butler sacrifice to right. Another 2 walks issued by Sox pitching has taken the score to 3 – 1.
Top of the ninth inning saw one more pitching change for K.C with Greg Holland in the office, Viciedo hit a single to right and Moises Sierra has taken over base running duties for him, Dunn on with a walk and Leury Garcia on base to run, Ramirez hit into a double play to close the game.
