White Sox and Oakland – Games 2 and 3

From the start it was going to be Oakland’s day and no matter what the Sox tried they were going to be shut out. The Sox would only be able to put 4 hits on the board, Scott Carroll struggled from the start and was able to survive til the bottom of the sixth inning when Frank Francisco took over on the mound. Frank made it to the bottom of the seventh inning when Ronald Belisario come in, Matt Lindstrom came in at the bottom of the eighth inning to close out the Sox side of the game.
The A’s stated the scoring in the bottom of the first when Yoenis Cespedes scored on a Brandon Moss double to left, Cespedes reached base on a single to center. 1 – 0 in favor of the A’s
The A’s added another run in the bottom of the fourth inning when Reddick singled to center, Alberto Callaspo reached the pond by way of a walk. Craig Gentry’s single got Reddick home, *Score A’s 2 – Sox – 0
The bottom of the fifth inning the A’s added four more runs thanks to , John Jaso starting things off with a double to right, Cespedes hit a another double which Jaso scored on, a third double by Derek Norris which Cespedes got home, Reddick’s home run to right with Norris on base would be the last of the scoring for the inning. *Score 6 – 0 in favor of the A’s.
Three more runs added in the bottom of the 6th inning came when Jaso started things off with a single, Jed Lowrie doubled to right moving Jaso to third,who scored on a throwing error by Moises Sierra. Brandon Moss hit a home run to right with Lowrie on board. *Score A’s 9 – Sox – 0
The final runs came in the bottom of the eighth inning when Moss homered with Daric Barton on board.
Final Score Oakland A’s 11 and the Chicago White Sox – 0

Gordon Beckham started the game off with a Home run to left. Jaso answered back with a home run of his own to make it a 1 – 1 tie ball game.
Things went quiet til the bottom of the fourth inning when Donaldson hit a home run to right, giving the A’s the lead 2 – 1.
Scott Downs came on in relief of Rienzo in the bottom of the fifth inning, with Ronald Belsario to close the inning.
The top of the eighth inning would the the Sox finally take the lead when Beckham got on with a single to center, followed by Conor Gillaspie, Jose Abreu would smack home run number 15 with Beckham and Gillaspie on taking the score to Sox – 4 and the A’s – 2
Final Score Chicago White Sox 4 and the Oakland A’s 2. Oakland would take the series 2 games to 1.
The Sox find themselves 7 games behind Detroit heading to Houston for a three game series then to Kansas City for a three game series before finally getting home.
