Closing the Office Stuff

??????????????????It has been a long season and we are not where we hoped we would be now.

Getting ready for playoffs and all that goes along with the next step. Just wanted to take care of some issues before the end of the season.

Happy Birthday Gordon Beckham, realize it was a couple of days ago but we still hope you had a good day.

Congratulations to Avi Garcia and his wife welcoming the birth of their first child, a daughter. WE at the Sorority hope that you will share some pictures soon.

Paul Konerko – We are down on our knees begging, pleading with you to stay just ONE more season. I know it’s not a pretty sight for us to beg but we want you to stay. You have to finish your career in the White pinstripe.

Rick, and the management team — you guys have made some of the most stupid moves in baseball. YOU traded the experience the pitching staff needed. How could you!!!! A drinks cooler gave its life, the night Chris Sale got beaten to a pulp on the mound, he NEEDED JAKE.  Jake would have taken him aside and talk to him. Given him some guidance. You apparently do not trust some of the player in the farm team who are coming up. We have a good core of pitchers, especially with Hector Santiago and Jose Quintana and they need to guidance and experience, they need people like Chris who can help them. You traded Jake so it’s up to Chris now. The talk of TRADING GORDON, Have you lost the plot man. One of our best players and you want to trade him??? How in the world do you expect to compete for the pennant next year if you do a complete rebuild.

In a few days I will close the White Sox season with you but will stay on for the playoffs and the world series. Still not quite sure who we will support but if it involves a former White Sox player you can be sure we will be there.

See you at The Cell

Visiting Boston – Jake’s Pitching

1001219_411628322288249_1006281135_nMy two favorite words this morning — Jake’s Pitching

It is Boston Red Sox against the Baltimore Oriels

I missed the first inning but will pick it up in the second. This will be more what Jake threw (balls, strikes) things of that nature today.

***Second Inning

*2 – 0 (Boston)

roughly threw 16 pitches, 2 went hit foul, 6 balls and 8 strikes.

2 of the three outs were strike outs.

***Third Inning

*2 – 0 (Boston)

Roughly threw 20 pitches, 5 went foul, 9 balls, 4 strikes

***Fourth Inning

*2 – 0 (Boston)

Roughly threw 13 pitches, 7 strikes, 5 balls, Hit one better, called for a balk

***Fifth Inning

*2 – 2

Roughly threw 23 pitches,9 strikes, 9 Balls, Correct #Whiff count is 8

***Sixth Inning

*3 – 2 (Oriels)

93 total pitches so far. 61 strikes so far, You can see that Jake is tired, He threw everything that he had in his arsenal tonight. He hit the century mark in that inning so I do look for him to be in the seventh inning. will stay with the game to see how it finishes

***Seventh Inning

*3 – 3 (Home run for Boston)

103 pitches for Jake, still there. Roughly 11 pitches thrown, 2 balls and 5 strikes.

***Eighth Inning

*3 – 3

Craig Breslow has come in to replace Jake

Craig Breslow is being replaced by Junichi Tazawa

***Ninth Inning

*3 – 3

***Tenth Inning

*3 – 3

***Eleventh Inning

*3 – 3

***Twelfth Inning

*5 – 3 (Oriels score two runs on a single)

Game over.

Jake went 7.o innings, 6 hits, 3 runs,3 earned runs, 1 BB and 8 strike outs. He did hit one batter.

Dedicating Post 150, to Sisters and Favorite Players.

Cricket and Opera HouseIt has been an interesting journey during this baseball season. When I started this it was for fun and to get back into baseball and see what was going on. Since then, things have taken many turns that I never expected and I have made some wonderful new friends and Sorority Sisters.

My Sorority Sisters are the most wonderful, loving, funny, supportive Sisters that any girl could ask for, I love sharing the games with the girls and just having general chat about life and our love of the game, the players we love, those we miss. I had a melt down as few weeks ago and they were so supportive and wonderful. To my Sisters, I give you my love and support, we have shared the massive great times and helped each other through those days of trades and favorite players leaving. Jake Peavy is a case in point, I was devastated when he was traded to Boston and the girl knew I would be. They were there to support me and remind me that I can always follow him no matter. That is how our “She Also Loves the Former White Sox Players” came to be. There are rumors of Paul Konerko retiring along with Adam Dunn, I know some of the girls are devastated by the news. I will be there for them, to love and support them as we wait for news. It may not come til after our season ends but I will be there.

I miss Jake Peavy in the number 44. He was wonderful to watch, was really connected to his catchers. You could see then he would be really annoyed with himself, he would yell at himself when he was in the office (on the mound). Jake was a mentor to Chris Sale and some of the other pitchers and I wish he would still be there. I will continue to follow Jake until he retires, no matter what color his Sox are. Miss you heaps Jake.

I have already decided to return next year, that was an easy choice as my love of baseball and especially my love of the Boys of Summer. It has been an amazing year, the highs of seeing Jake, Hector and Jose pitch and do well, the lows of injuries and wavers. Gavin Floyd departing and needing Tommy John surgery. The explosion of Josh Phegley, an Indiana boy making in the big league.

I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU, to Dan who is my editor, Pj my husband, for his love and support, putting up with me getting up at all hours of the night to work, to my Chicago White Sox Sorority, I LOVE YOU…I cant thank you for all your support and what wonderful friendship we have built. I know that I have many wonderful sisters for life.

Finally, to YOU my readers, I can not say THANK YOU enough for taking the time to stop by and share a few minutes of your day with me. Your support is what keeps me going, Its been full of highs and lows but we have made it through.

Take care and again

THANK YOU

See you on the field

Dear Hawk

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAWK

Greetings from the Chicago White Sox Sorority    (#chisoxsorority)

We are a group of ladies who gather on-line to cheer our beloved Boys of Summer. We love them through heaven and hell, through all the extra inning games, the road trips, the losing streaks, no matter what we are there.  Through the injuries and all the new boys coming from Charlotte,

We know it has been a discouraging year but there have been some great highlights. You have talked about your feelings that Jake was traded, How Chris needs better support, and how our young kids like Hector and Jose are getting stronger and will be great pitchers in the coming year.

You have shared some wonderful stories about your years in the league and those you have met. You have taught us all about the inside of the game and how it has changed over the years. You taught us how “Tommy John” surgery came to be and how it has changed the face of pitchers in the game today.

We love your story how “You can Put it on the Board,YES” As my Sorority Sisters gather to listen to you we always “grab some bench” and settle in.

We loved when Whimpy came to join you for a series. It was fully of giggles and wonderful stories. We always seem to learn something that none of us never knew.

We don’t know if you will go another round next year, but we sure hope that you do.

On Behalf of my Sorority Sisters we hope that you have an amazing Birthday.

Hugs and Love from all over the world
