Congrats to the boys on the wonderful opening day win. Chris Sale pitched 7 and 1/2 really solid innings yesterday and with Tyler Flowers home run it was a good day. The weather looked cold but the sun was shining. The Kansas City Royals return for game two of a three game series at The Cell at 1:10 pm Chicago time, 4:40 am here in Australia. Have not seen who the starting pitcher is for tomorrow.

More interesting news, it was announced today that the White Sox will be hosting, The 2013 Civil Right Game on Saturday the 24th of August against the Texas Rangers. Atlanta,Georgia was last year’s host and the White sox have taken part  in the event when it stopped in Memphis, Tennessee and Cincinnati, Ohio.

White Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf was quoted as saying “Its just NOT a game, and a majority of the people in the country were most likely not alive when Dr. King was killed and especially when Jackie Robinson came into the game.” Jerry went on to talk about the need to remember how far we have come and that we do our very best to give equal opportunity for everybody.

The Civil Rights Game weekend will open on the 23rd of August with a roundtable discussion about Baseball and the civil Rights Movement. Many other events will take place over the weekend ending with a youth clinic on saturday and the Game at U.S. Cellular Field.

What an amazing weekend that will be, congratulations to Jerry and everyone involved in what will be a truly amazing weekend.
