Opening Day 2012 against the Kansas City Royals
It took a bit to find the game. After changing on-line streaming sites I finally found the boys. Not much to report through the 5th as its nothing all to this point. Bo Jackson threw out the first pitch. The first double play for the season can go in the record book in the 5th inning at The Cell. Chris Sale is looking relaxed and so far throwing 60 pitches total.Chris kept the Royals scoreless through seven innings. You can add Catcher Tyler Flowers to the opening day first with a homer to left center field. Gordon Beckman takes the first single honors on opening day. Bottom of the sixth the Kansas City pitcher, James Shields just ticked 100 pitches thrown compared to Chris Sale at roughly 83 pitches. Chris had a good outing with 72 of his 104 pitches crossing as strikes. Nate Jones got the call in to close the game but got into trouble and was gone in less than half an inning, with Matt Thornton closing out the game.
It looked cold there but the sun was out and all around it was a good solid start to the season. Back on Wednesday with the Royals again. Congrats to Chris and the boys.
See you on the Field
